About Us:
More than 2years ago, Jennifer and Tina wanted to start a FREE social organization for Taiwanese in LA. Thanks to meetup.com, we were able to establish this group. In less than a year, our group has grown to over 200 members. We've met so many cool people and made many good friends. Our meetup group has been so successful because our fellow members are cool and easy to get along with. Lately, our events usually get filled within few hours with many interested members on the waiting list. Many thanks for David, Kevin and a few other active members for always coming up with new ideas and helping us organize events. On those weekends that we don't have any planned events, they always post and organize fun things to do on the message board, keep everyone updated of what's happening.
Who joins our group?
We are a mixed Taiwanese group. Jennifer and Tina were both born in Taiwan and have been in US since high school. Jennifer came from Texas and Tina is a local Californian. These two girls met at USC grad school in 2005. They both speak fluent Chinglish, listen to the latest Taiwan & American pop music and watch American shows and Taiwanese drama. Most of our members share very similar background, and we converse mostly in Mandarin. We also have members that are second generation Taiwanese Americans who enjoy Taiwanese culture, and some international students who are new to the country. Our favorite activities include KTV (Chinese), dancing, snowboard and try different restaurants.
If you are interested in joining our group, please help us get to know you better by answering all questions and uploading a picture. Thank you!
